The main reason I started doing cold showers is just to do something once again that I hate with a passion as I believe eventually that will make me tougher. Obviously, there are many benefits of it apart from that and you can learn about them in this video.
Personally, I don’t find the physical part of it hard. Yes, the water feels cold for around 2 seconds, but after that the body and skin don’t really feel it, however, that little voice in the head keeps winging really loud non-stop. So, I just tell it to shut up as I’m wet already and it won’t get worse.
To be completely honest, I often find myself procrastinating and doing a self-talk for even 20mins before finally getting into the shower, but some days when I hear that little voice starting to bitch, I smile and walk into the cold. Either way, I know I’m winning – doing something repeatedly that most part of me doesn’t want to do but some do, is a win.
